Gionee 'Elife' series of handsets, from E3 to E5, have been quite impressive. Despite being a new entrant in the Indian market, the company and its devices seems to have the potential to catch up with players like Micromax, if not Samsung and Sony.
Their latest, the Gionee E6 is no iPhone or Samsung S4, but is nothing less as far as performance and looks are concerned. With a candy bar shape and a unibody design, the E6 is built with the similar soft touch polycarbonate material as the Nokia Lumia series. At just 7.9mm, the sleek E6 weighs only 128 grams. Housing a 5-inch touchscreen with Full HD resolution, the phone has a crisp display, visible even under the sun. Thanks to its IPS technology, the viewing angles too are superior to other devices in this price category.
On the performance front, the E6 is armed with 1.5GHz processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and has 32GB built-in storage with no expandability options. The E6 has a unique UI overlaying the Android OS with all the apps listed on the home screen itself. The multitasking menu on the E6 seems to be borrowed from iOS 7. The E6 also comes with preloaded apps like the UC Browser, as well as the GioneeXender for transferring content, GameZone to download new games, Kingsoft Office and usual apps like Facebook, WeChat and more.
