Microsoft has now begun rolling out its Windows Phone 8.1 update aka 'Cyan' to Lumia handsets. 0 Microsoft announced Lumia 930, Lumia 635 and Lumia 630 with Windows 8.1 running on Board

Microsoft has announced the latest Lumia flagship 930 with two Budget friendly lumia devices 635 and 630. All three devices have latest windows 8.1 OS when available in market.

Nokia Lumia 930 features Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in, non-expandable memory on board. The display is a 5” super sensitive ClearBlack AMOLED unit with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and pixel density of 441ppi.

The main camera of the Nokia Lumia 930 is a 20MP PureView unit with 1/2.5” BSI sensor, f/2.4, OIS, and a dual-LED flash. It is capable of capturing 1080p videos @ 30 fps.Connectivity of the smartphone includes Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and USB 2.0. The phone will work with a nano-SIM card. The Lumia 930 has FM radio too.The physical measures of the Nokia Lumia 930 are 137 x 71 x 9.8mm, while its weight tips the scale at 167 grams. The device is powered by a 2,420mAh battery and offers Qi wireless charging capability.

The Nokia Lumia 930 is expected to roll out globally in June starting with Europe, Asia, Middle East and India. It's expected to cost $599 (€435) before taxes and subsidies.

                                                                                                             

Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 635 feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in memory, and microSD card slot.Lumia 630 also brings dual-SIM functionality to the Windows Phone platform for the first time.

The display in both smartphones is a 4.5” FWVGA ClearBlack IPS LCD unit covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. A 5MP main camera and full connectivity suite (Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro-USB) complete the highlights in the spec sheets of both devices.

The HSPA+ capable Nokia Lumia 630 will begin rolling out in May to a number of markets which include Europe, Asia, Russia, and China for €119/ $159 and €129/$169 for the single and dual-SIM version respectively. The LTE-capable Nokia Lumia 635 sibling will be widely available (including the United States) from July for €139/$189. All prices are before taxes or carrier subsidies.

Nokia Lumia 1520 is rumored to feature a 6" 1080p display and run on the latest Snapdragon 800 chipset. Other alleged specs include a 20MP camera on the back, wireless charging support, a polycarbonate body and Windows Phone 8 GDR3.

Today we get to see what is allegedly a live photo of the phablet. How we know it's indeed the 6" Lumia 1520? Well, the phones next to it is the recently launched Lumia 1020 and it's easily dwarfed by the Lumia 1520.

With the screen switched on, we also seem to be getting our first look at the upcoming GDR3 update that would bring support for 1080p screens, faster processors. 1 Nokia Lumia 720 & Lumia 520 launches in India

Nokia Lumia 520 is priced at Rs 10,500 and will be available in the market this month itself but Lumia 720 will hit the market in April this year.

 Finnish handset maker, Nokia has announced the launch of Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 smartphones in India. Both the handsets come with Windows Phone 8 operating system. Nokia Lumia 520 is priced at Rs 10,500 and will hit the market in 7 days, but the Lumia 720 will be made available inIndia in the month of April. There is no announcement as of now about the price of Lumia 720.

  Meanwhile, Idea Cellular has also announced that buyers of Nokia Lumia 520 will also get 2 GB 3G data every month for two consecutive months for free. Also Lumia 520 users can avail 1 GB of data for free from RCom for two consecutive months.

Nokia Lumia 720 comes with a 4.3 inch ClearBlack Gorilla Glass 2.0 display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution. It has a polycarbonate unibody like the Nokia Lumia 920. The phone is slim with 9 mm thickness and weighs 128 grams.

The Nokia Lumia 520 has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and is capable of recording 720p HD video at 30 fps. The phone is slim at 9.9 mm and weighs 124 grams.

0 Nokia tie-up with New India Assurance (NIA) to provide Mobile insurance on Nokia Handsets

This plan will be available March 14 onwards on all Nokia devices purchased through Nokia branded retail stores.

Nokia, in association with New India Assurance (NIA), has announced the availability of insurance plans for Nokia phones against risks of theft and damage. This includes thefts, burglary, malicious acts, riots among others, as well as damage that is beyond the purview of the consumer's standard warranty.

Starting from a minimum insurance premium of just Rs 50, the plan will cost 1.25 per cent of the purchased handset's value. To avail of this insurance plan, consumers purchasing their handsets from a Nokia Branded Retail Store have to provide a few personal details and receive their insurance certificate, handout and payment receipt at the store itself.

The plan will be available March 14 onwards on all Nokia devices purchased through Nokia branded retail stores across the country, initially in Delhi and the National Capital Region, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Cochin.

Announcing the initiative, Segar Sampathkumar, general manager, New India Assurance, said,"We are extremely pleased to partner a leading handset manufacturer such as Nokia to offer their consumers an exclusive insurance plan that not only protects their consumers against unforeseen events such as theft and loss, but also against device damage. Based on our deep understanding of the segment, we are looking to provide Nokia consumers with a seamless solution that is as easy to claim, as it is to buy."

Kannan Gopalakrishnan, director retail, Nokia India, also said, "The NIA insurance plan is aimed at safeguarding Nokia consumers against the angst caused by loss, theft or damage of their devices, while offering them an affordable and effective solution to protect their investments. We believe with the changing consumer landscape and the growing penetration of smartphones in India, this plan is sure to see strong uptake amongst our consumers."

According to a survey conducted by Norton Mobile, in 2012, 43 per cent Indians have had their mobile phone lost or stolen, with the majority (59 per cent) losing it. Thus such a initiative seems very much desired. Earlier also, few insurance companies were providing such plans for mobile phones but with the back up of Nokia, this initiative is expected to get more popular.

In order to enhance the consumer experience further, New India Assurance and Nokia have mutually agreed and tied up with an IRDA Licensed "Insurance Broker", which is facilitating and administering the plan by way of providing Value Added Services exclusively to Nokia consumers. Consumers can avail of these services at an additional fee of  Rs 50 per device irrespective of the device cost. In order to report claims with New India Assurance, customers have to contact the call center managed by the “Insurance Broker". The value added services include free pickup and drop services in six cities, viz., Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad Chennai and Kolkata. This includes free pick up (within 24 hours of a call being registered) and drop of the device in case of damage, or of documents in case of loss or theft. In case of thefts, consumers will need to file a written report with police authorities and report the loss of SIM to the concerned network service provider and acknowledgement to be furnished.

Cashless service will allow claimants to submit their devices at the nearest authorized service center and have their claims processed. If the damage is within purview of Insurance, the device will be repaired and be delivered back to the consumer at his door step. In the interim period, consumers will also be provided with standby handsets and chargers.
