Zime Free Android App :
It's a new year, and
a new to-do list and event management Android app aims to help users manage
their New Year's resolutions in 3D.
Zime for Android is currently in beta, but it
looks like an interesting personal time-management app with an interactive,
gesture-controlled 3D timeline view. The app also packs Google Calendar
integration, advanced task prioritization, custom specification for workdays,
work hours, lunch breaks, and other such statistical analyses of self-evaluated
tasks, and all of the basic notes and management tools that usually come with
such apps.
The Zime app allows users to add notes and
events to their calendar using taps and multi-touch gestures. Moreover, users
can add titles, deadlines, priority levels, reminders, duration, actions, privacy
settings, other participants, map locations, and several other details to each
scheduled action. Users can add new tasks instantly using the app's home screen
widget. The same widget also serves as the portal to keep an eye on the to-do
list or track recently-finished events.
Several gesture-based management apps are
already available in the market and each app hasto hold its own in order to
stay competitive and stand out from the crowd. What sets Zime apart from the
competition? The app's home screen offers a scrollable, interactive timeline in
three dimensions (3D), displaying a week-by-week breakdown of the user's
calendar.
Users can navigate the calendar by swiping
vertically in the middle of the screen, and get directed to a specific time
within a day's view by swiping along the right edge of the screen. Tapping the
+ tab at the top-right allows users to add new notes and events for the current
day, while using the pinch-to-zoom gesture allows for navigation to a specific
time on the calendar to add new content or view the existing one.
Meanwhile, users can jump to a specific week or
month on the calendar by using the timeline tab at the bottom. Tapping the date
will then return to the current-day calendar view. Tapping the line graph
button will navigate to the app's Debriefing screen, which allows users to
evaluatetheir performance on various tasks. Each particular task features a
slider next to it, and users can register responses such as "Late,"
"On Time," or other self-evaluations. Zime also keeps a log of the
user's performance and delivers a point-graph overview on the same screen to
display scores.
Users can access and control most features of
the Zime for Android app through various gestures, and in-app tutorial screens
aim to provide all necessary instructions to do so. The app also offers instant
suggestions for contacts and actions such as calling, texting, mailing,
meeting, etc. This suggestions feature is integrated both within the app's main
user interface and its widget.
Lastly, Zime also aims to make it easy for users
to manage recurring tasks, set duration and deadlines for certain tasks,
redefine priorities, change event details, or navigate to specific apps to
perform tasks.
Zime for Android is currently in beta and is
only compatible with devices running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or newer
versions. The app is available for free from the Google Play store.
