HP Slate 7 has put people in a bind. A very
attractive and very rightly priced seven-inch tablet will certainly make people
go week in their knees. Everyone would like to pick one for him or her, but for
the past experience. Should I talk about it at a time when a very good product
has just been launched.
The earlier experiment of TouchPad tablet wasn’t
that memorable. It had disappointed HP’stablet fans so much that many had vowed
never to go for any tablet that came from HP furnaces. But I am sure with this
inexpensive and well endowed tablet, the experience is going to be great. And
anyone who had used TouchPad tablet will certainly desire to check it once to
see the difference.
To be true, so far HP had resisted the lure of
Android OS. It is the first HP tab to be running on Android. HP’s first tablet
TouchPad came with itsown operating system the webOS. Now the company has
turned up with a nice Android tablet PC. The device will feature a 7.0-inch
1024×600 resolution display that makes use of the FFS+ LCD technology. It is up
with a powerful 1.6GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB
internal memory.
In its quest to provide top specs, HP has given
the tab a MicroSD card slot. The Slate 7 will further offer a microSD card slot
for expanding memory beyond the available 8GB. As for connectivity, it will
have options like Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/b and Bluetooth 2.1. The device will mount a
3MP rear camera and VGA front camera. Plus, it will offer stereo speakers and
Beats Audio support. It is to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean preinstalled.
A review in Engadget is full of praise for the
tablet from HP. “A stainless steel frame lends the whole thing some much-needed
rigidity, while the matte, soft-touch finish on the back gives the fingers a
comfortable resting place” says the review. Others too are equally praiseful
for HP and its new tablet.
HP Slate 7 release date has been set for April 2013
and the 7-inch device will be made
available at an
affordable price of $169
